Education and training

Career and professional positions held
1987- present: Founder and C.E.O. of C.E.M. Consulting, giving advice for solving technical problems in the construction industry incl. arbitration and mediation, expert witness appointments by the Belgian courts esp. in appeal cases.
1986-87: Special adviser to the secretary-general of S.A.E. (Société Auxiliaire d'Entreprises) in the Paris head office, France for the preparation of claims to overseas projects in the Middle-East and Africa. Also claim adviser for the French companies Someco and Quillery.
1984-85: Project manager for the Consultant M+R International on a major housing development in Saudi Arabia, located at Al Hofuf.
1971-84: Project manager for the contractor Six-Construct for different projects in the Middle East: fertiliser plant in Qatar, deepwater harbour in Muscat - Sultanate of Oman, cement plant in Sharjah - U.A.E., Al Qaim fertiliser complex in Iraq and for Six-Co Ltd in Houston - USA.
1968-70: Head of the technical and planning office on a major road project with the contractor ICECO in Burkina Faso - Africa.
1965-68: Engineer with SECO, an organisation controlling design and construction of all major government construction projects in Belgium.
Worked on different projects in joint-ventures with the French company Fives-Cail-Babcock, the German companies Thyssen Schachtbau and Hochtief and the Belgian general contractor Sybetra.

Special experience
Professional engineer with 40+ years of experience in a very wide range of the construction business: roads and highways, bridges and flyovers, tunnels, dams, industrial complexes, fishing and deepwater harbours, residential and commercial site developments, power plants, pumping stations, water treatment plants, railroads, drainage and sewerage, infrastructure projects, low and high-rise buildings.
